In your arms

(hand-built, raku-fired with human hair, 2024)

In raku firing, the combustible material burns away and leaves its path in smoke permanently pressed into the clay. The hair used here was the artist's own. The form that received it is open at the center, wide at the base, tilting upward — the shape of something that hasn't let go yet.
